Thanks to UCLA and the donor involved, I was able to view the screener last night. It is from a 28mm reduction copy of between 3 and 4 minutes. As a comedy I want to say that it's more amusing than the surviving footage of When Dr. Quackel did Hide, dir. by Charles Gramlich (The Gold Seal Film Corporation. 1920) but truly comparing the two is hard to say without viewing the originals of both. I'd guess that IF that were possible, Stan Laurel's Dr. Pyckle and Mr. Pride, would still sit atop the silent J&H comedy totem pole. .. Still thinking about a possible update to the article on a back burner basis.
