Cannot wait to see your review. I finished it a little while ago and had pretty much nothing nice to say about it. I'm not even sure why I gave it three stars.

ugh i haven't even touched it in a week :/
I was suffering 30% in and only got through it because one of my friends read it and wanted someone to talk about it with. Didn't get even mildly interesting until literally halfway through.
Ayan wrote: "I loved it! It gets so good!! (well for me it did)"
that gives me hope!! the first 200 pages have been really boring for me :/
Yasmeen wrote: "honestly SJM's books are so boring in my opinion (no offense to anyone) but she's just not for me"
i've given every book of hers i've read 2 stars - just not my cup of tea i guess
Stephanie wrote: "Omg I'm not the only one. I didn't even finish it. Could not find the motivation for it."
but you gave it 4 stars? are there upsides? i'm searching for hope lmao

oh jesus. at least i have "mildly interesting" to look forward to hahahaha
I have it at 3.5 right now but I'm considering lowering it, do NOT like how she portrays a bisexual character (I happen to be bi myself)

oh, yikes. i'll keep an eye out for that

i did exactly the same thing, then powered through 50 more pages, then put it back again
Sara wrote: "I was super bored for like the first half of the book, but I feel like it picks up. However I think that I f you don't really care about the characters, it probably won't be super enjoyable for you"
i don't NOT care about the characters, but like...i don't love them so much that i can handle it being JUST them
I finished this three days ago. The second book was better in my opinion, because this book was really boring for most of the part!

ugh thank you. i haven't touched it in foreverrrr
Cordelianne wrote: "I finished this three days ago. The second book was better in my opinion, because this book was really boring for most of the part!"
that's my problem with it! i'd much rather hate a book than be soooo boredddd
i read the first 200 pages, got so bored and had to leave it for later. i can't believe nothing remarkably big has happened yet! is there really a need for this book to be so unnecessarily long?

i'm at 224 and nope, absolutely nothing interesting. the #1 thing this book has to be is entertaining. like it's not exactly bringing any moral lessons or literary merit to the table so i at least want to have a good time. AH i'm so upset
Camille wrote: "I'm afraid it doesn't get any better. I'm reading it too and I'm struggling through this !"
i've barely touched it in weeks!! it's killing me!!
Jay wrote: "Aww sorry that your bored in the book tbh the second one is the best!"
honestly i think sarah j maas just isn't for me but i'll keep tryin'. thanks girl
oh bless. i'm about to read the second one and i'm so worried it's going to be a disaster. i really liked the first but i'm thinking this love is too good to be true.
I keep putting off starting this from mixed reviews. I enjoyed the 2nd book and I kinda don't want this to be a disappointment. Her other series is already beginning to wear on me a bit. (Plus, it's a freaking tome. Why so much?)
Yasmeen wrote: "honestly SJM's books are so boring in my opinion (no offense to anyone) but she's just not for me"
Same -- they're just not my thing. Lots of my friends like them, and that's great, but Maas and I are just not compatible.
The first 200 pages wee honestly the best part of the book for me, and the rest of the books wasn't that great for me.
Emma wrote: "*whispers* DNF.....you don't need this terrible book in your life"
tempting but i do need the catharsis of writing a proper rant about it

the second is...a lot. i've given every SJM book i've read 2 stars, though, so i may not be the most reliable source

i have barely been able to make myself pick it up. maybe it improves a little ways down the line, but 250 pages in and i still haven't been even a little entertained.

i think i have to agree :/ i've given every book by her i've read 2 stars, and at this point i may have to give up trying

oh man! the first 200 pages have been rough so that's not a good sign

I absolutely understand, writing a book rant feels like all your anger is being funneled into something productive and your soul is being cleansed of all impurities, it's one of the most satisfying experiences
And to think this stupid book will win the goodreads choice awards. It's horrible and it's not even young adult, it's new adult.

i have not touched it in nearly 6 months
Brigetta wrote: "That's exactly how I felt.....

it's discovering new frontiers of boring
Peter wrote: "And to think this stupid book will win the goodreads choice awards. It's horrible and it's not even young adult, it's new adult."
this is so true. i hate that the goodreads awards are much more "how many people have read this book" than "is this book genuinely good"
I still have to read this book. Now I'm a lil bit worried after reading your post. I also agree with you about Goodreads Awards. I honestly didn't read even 1/4 of those books. It's indeed more like the popularity contest instead of quality.
