Angela, I think this is one that you would love if you have the opportunity to read it.
Lisa, thanks for the reminder! This has been on my list since 2017. I add books I think I’ll love then forget about them.😩
Lisa, to make matters worse or (better maybe ), I not only added it , I bought a copy and it’s on my kindle. I need to get myself more organized. You’d think I’d be better as a former librarian!

You need an index, like the catalog to keep you organized! 😉
Haha! I actually do have “Libraries “ or collections set up on my kindle , just too many books in them ☺️

I buy too many, but I always feel like I don't want to forget to read a book so buying it - supposedly- ensiures that is the guarantee.
Rebecca, I think that , too . I really need to go though what I own and make a point of getting to them . Just not enough hours!
This is one of the first novels I read as a teenager and it has stayed with me for years. I think you will love it.
Lovely review, Angela. Isn’t it great to knock off a book that’s been in your TBR so long? I know that feeling.
A fine review, Angela. It's funny how we have loads of reads sitting waiting to be released but new ones always seem to take the priority! Glad you were able to virtually 'dust' one off! Good work. Now, I need to do the same!
I really liked this one also [it was a monthly pick in a group] and your thoughts allowed me to revisit. A, any idea how many unread books are hiding on your Kindle?

Antoinette , thanks so much. I’ll never live to read my whole tbr , but it was good to get to an old one , especially one that was as good.

Jen, thanks very much. Not enough years in my lifetime to read my tbr , but I can try to get to a few. I have always been drawn to new releases , but wonder how many gems I have already in hand !

Laysee, thanks so much. Enjoyed your review as well.

C, I know exactly how many unread books are on my kindle . 288 😳! Many of them were kindle deals for $1.99 or lower priced than the original price, but I know I have some full priced titles there as well. I have my kindle titles separated into collections so there are individual libraries for My Books Owned , NetGalley to read and Edelweiss to read . I have always been drawn to new titles , new to me authors, and especially new releases by my favorite authors so I keep reading those and the others sit there . I’m going to try to read more of them.
I have so many books on my TBR that I'll never get through them! Thus, many good ones simply fall off my radar. So many choices....
I'm glad this was one you enjoyed.
Carmel , thanks so much . My tbr on Goodreads is much longer than the 288 I have on my kindle!! Yes, unless I go back and look or one pops up because I read a review, very easy to forget it’s there . Oh well - as long as I enjoy what I do read . I’m sure there are some gems I’m missing out on!
Glad that you finally got to read this one Angela and tick a longstanding book off your TBR! Great review!
Wonderful review Angela! This has been sitting on my TBR for about nine years as well. I plan to fix that now!

Ann, thank you . I don’t feel so bad now that I’m in good company. I hope you enjoy it.
Good for you for reading one off your TBR! I need to do that. I'm always attracted to the new releases too! Great review!
I'm delighted that you finally met the Soames family. I loved these individuals with all of their attributes and flaws. And the writing itself, so wonderful.

I love when books take us to extraordinary places. This one is a favorite of mine! So glad you dusted it off and enjoyed it, Sngrla! Lovely review!
This is one of my favorites too Angela. The reason I don't do Netgalley and other early reading sites is so I can read more of what I already have. The library is distracting enough!
Diane, I’m just so drawn to new releases , always have been, especially those by my favorite writers, so I’ll continue with ARCs for most of my reading, but I am going to try to discover these hidden gems I already own. Glad I got to this one as so many of my trusted Goodreads friends loved it .
Angela- I’m so glad you loved this too. I’m exactly the same- I neglect books on my shelves that have been gathering dust and when I finally get round to reading them I uncover a hidden gem!
Lovely review, Angela. I am so glad you enjoyed this one, too. And, I too love going back and reading the 'older' books. Sometimes it doesn't need to be a current bestseller that keeps us warm and cozy! ☺️
Nice review, Angela. 2017, eh? You making me feel bad now about some of my antiquated TBR additions. :D

Thanks , Rosh. I have so many I’m can’t feel bad about - 😊. I know I’ll probably keep reading new releases , but will try to read some that I own. As long as I keep reading I’m happy !
