Bailey Suggestions MUST fit the theme! In this case, it HAS to fit the theme LESSER KNOWN AUTHOR meaning it CANNOT be part of a popular or best selling author, and it CANNOT be a book we HAVE read before!
Each person can suggest ONE book per topic. If you suggest more than one, your first entry will be chosen.
YA books only!
Must be widely available (in print, at libraries, kindle, etc.). It also needs to be available in multiple forms, not only kindle or only print, etc.

PLEASE REFERENCE THE LIST OF WHAT WE HAVE PREVIOUSLY READ!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
You can search the list by hitting "control + F" on PCs and "command + F" on Macs, you then type in the title and if we have read it, it will pop up.

If possible, use the "add book/author" link which allows us to see a list of the books and authors.

The voting list will be capped at 15 so even though it COULD stay open until the 5th of June, it may close before then if we get enough suggestions. Thank you!

Dalton Lyle I'm going to shamelessly plug my book Wade & Felix Forever, which will be available starting June 9th. It's about a small-town Texas tornado survivor named Wade who's secretly pining for his best friend Felix and wants to run away with him to California after they graduate high school. However, it's not a romance — Wade leaves a trail of chaos wherever he goes, from an LGBTQ-themed Peter Pan musical called Pansgender! to a gay Sasquatch prank that his conspiracy theorist podcaster aunt exploits. It's a coming-of-age story in which Wade has to grow up and learn to confront his demons and desires instead of channeling them into chaos.

The paperback will be available through Amazon and IngramSpark, and the ebook will be available through most vendors that sell ebooks. I know some librarians plan to buy it for their libraries. If it appeals to anybody, I'd be so honored if you read it. Thanks!

Wade & Felix Forever

Eduardo Aleman Dear All,
I would like to submit for consideration my YA haunting fantasy novella. I am happy to say that it is available everywhere and for the very affordable price of 0.99$ for the ebook - also available as paperback.
This is the intro: "In the village of Marea’s Hollow, where the cliffs leaned like tired sentinels over a sea that never quite slept, children were taught three unbreakable rules: Never turn your back on the tide.
Never speak a secret to the wind after moonrise.
And never, under any circumstances, answer when the water calls your name."
Thanks a lot for the opportunity!

Clara Emerson I'd like to suggest my debut fantasy novel, The Arcane Collar by T. L. Collins.

An elf rejected by the dragons that choose every other elf's destiny discovers he may be tied to an ancient prophecy. When a forgotten sorcerer rises wielding a magical collar capable of enslaving dragons, he and his friend Lyka are drawn into a war that could consume Eldoria.

Available on Goodreads, Amazon, Kindle Unlimited, ebook and paperback.

Thank you for considering it.

Mel Before the Sunrise

Before the Sunrise by Melisande Corlett.
It's such a good read! If you like stories about friendship and emotional suspense blended with mystery in young adult fiction then this one is for YOU.

message 17: by Frank (new)

Frank Pasquine I’m suggesting The Prince of New York by Frank Pasquine.

If you’re looking for a story that combines the glamour of New York’s elite with the grit and heart of the city’s outer boroughs, The Prince of New York delivers both.

Part romance, part mystery, and part coming-of-age thriller, the novel follows David Whitmore, heir to a powerful real estate empire, and Ofelia Ortiz, a fiercely independent girl from the Bronx, as their worlds collide in unexpected ways.

With family secrets, tensions, first love, and a touch of the supernatural woven through the streets of Manhattan and the Bronx, the book offers a fresh, cinematic take on timeless themes of power, identity, and destiny. Whether you’re drawn to stories like Gossip Girl, The Outsiders, or modern retellings of classic tragedies, The Prince of New York is an unforgettable journey through a city where every choice can change a life.

I just wanted to check that it is YA because I can't find where it is listed as YA. Thank you!

message 19: by Clara (new)

Clara Emerson Hi Bailey,

Thank you for checking.

While The Arcane Collar can certainly be enjoyed by adult fantasy readers as well, it was written with a YA audience in mind. The story follows a young protagonist coming into his own, discovering his place in the world, and facing questions of identity, friendship, destiny, and courage.

The book contains no explicit content and focuses on adventure, dragons, friendship, and coming-of-age themes within an epic fantasy setting.

Thank you for considering it.

— T. L. Collins

message 20: by Mae (last edited 1 hour, 40 min ago) (new)

Mae We should read the book "Shatter Me" by Tahereh Mafi.
Its about a 17 year old girl. Similar to the Divergent series.
Romance, dystopian, and AMAZING! Also there are intense scenes so yeah just a warning. Another amazing book is The Cruel Prince. It is amazing! Romance, fantasy, dark. Its perfect for romantasy lovers!

message 21: by V.J. (new)

V.J. Garske I’d like to suggest my book. The Griffin Moonstone. It’s the third book of the series but it can be read as a standalone. The ratings have been great. When readers find it they love it. This is a clean YA Fantasy Adventure with heart.

Here’s the pitch:

The judges of the Winter Games scoff until the underdogs do the unthinkable and team up.

They stumble onto a deadly conspiracy …. How far will the Ice Castle go to keep its secret?

Available on KindleUnlimmited Ebook and paperback

Thank you for the opportunity to share.

Unfortunately neither author meets the criteria of lesser known authors for this particular BoM.

Stuart Schadt I'd like to suggest my book Blotch in the Mirror. Perry has a very colorful birthmark shaped like Michigan Upper and Lower peninsulas on his left cheek. The one you can see. Most people don't notice or say anything. But when one of the mean girls says, "It's not his fault, but he could have stayed home. He retreats to the seldom used bathroom in the band hall." Stuart E. Schadt Blotch in the Mirror by Stuart E. Schadt
