J.C. Plummer The audiobook was free to borrow, so I listened to it instead of reading it. I suspect that if I had been reading it, I would have started skimming when ODC separate after returning to London, and I'm not sure I would have finished it. A disappointment to be sure, especially since there are several of this author's stories that are among my favorites.

By the way, there is a bonus if you subscribe to Q&Q's newsletter which is a series of diary entries by Elizabeth. I actually enjoyed this more than the book itself! It would have been great if these diary entries had been incorporated into the story.

Levi It's an internal monolog. But he compared her wit and behavior and allures to those who were trained in brothels...

J.C. Plummer Oh! I remember this. Again, it's the sort of thing that, if I had been reading instead of listening, it would have stuck out in my mind more. I never like a Darcy who is familiar with brothels (too much like Wickham and smacks of modern morality), but this comparison is beyond the pale. Now I'm tempted to change my rating to 1-star.
