Pls say something if you see this comment. ALL my updates are blocked, book and general. All of you have responded to the link that I posted on Rick's page. Meaning it never came up in the feed. Nice one GR. About 20% of my 2026 reviews are shadow-banned and now can't even post an update. What have I done apart from come back from a 2+ year absence.

I want to know if this update appears in the feed or is also blocked unless you have the link.

BTW - you aren't the only one. One of GR buddies also doesn't show up on my feed, except when she shelves book. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I know the algorithm is selective, all of us have many more friends whose reviews never make the feed, but usually I could get 1 comment (or like) on an update, and I have had none for a month or more. It seems it is actually blocked and only if you have the direct link from Rick could you get here. Unless it appeared in your feed Yalla. (btw first time I saw your name I laughed. My usual expression on entering my son's room is what a balagan).

There are caps on how many updates, reviews and comments you can make in a day. The amount is undisclosed.

I really think I see your reviews all the time and because you write such honest and heartfelt reviews reflecting your own life I always like them and I often see there are 100s of other likes, so it doesn't seem blocked to me. I know you were absent for a time, so friend and follow engagements may have dropped but surely they will come back. Wishing you all the best! Cheers, Alan

Hi, Petra. For me, this update of yours is timestamped 30 minutes ago, although the oldest comments are stamped 12h ago. I see a number of original posts by you here on the full website, accessed by browser on a laptop. When I checked the site via my phone, however, I didn't see this update. I saw four others from the last 24 hours, but when I refreshed the page, all but one disappeared.

Thank you Alan, but you see them because you are a friend. The shadow-banned ones are not available to non-friends. It is easy to test that by signing out, deleting cookies and then looking at GR. A lot of my recent reviews are shadow-banned, and I have no idea how many others.

I don't make more than one update every week or two. Comments, maybe 10 a day maximum, reviews probably average 1 every 10 days but sometimes as many as 1 every three days. That is not a huge, spammy amount.

Hello, I've not seen much from you but I assumed it was more of me using the phone for a while and not being online a lot. I hope to see more of you, I've always enjoyed your questions and reviews.

Thanks. It is, I'm very lucky. My bf is a law professor and had a sabbatical last year, so we went travelling He has multiple sclerosis and needs help travelling and we don't know how long his mobility will last so we aren't losing any time but just doing what he can when we can.

oh BTW I still get updates on people Liking my reviews, but I am NOT getting updates or alerts when people comment on my reviews or reply to me so i have to check threads myself to see if I've been replied to. So you're definitely not the only one dealing with this.

I don't know. Since I came back after 2 years hiatus in January, various reviews, starting with a chicken book one (I 'have' a flock, well they are feral really) have been shadow-banned, meaning friends can see them but not the wider GR community, and they appear in very few friends update feeds. I have written to friends whose emails I have to confirm this. GR support don't reply.

Anyway I'm going travelling on Saturday so not going to be a lot of time for GR as my partner will have me researching the next place and looking for a hotel or whatever as he won't plan in advance.

I don't show up in many people's feed I know that. But I'm not really complaining about that because I also get very few people, and usually the same ones in my feed. It's always been this way.
