Thank you for taking the time to read and review the book. Your review actually raised a question for me because the version you describe does not match the final published edition. The continuity issue involving David's jail cell is not present in the released version, and Chapter 23 does not begin with David in a cell.

Prior to publication, I produced a very small number of proof copies solely for my editorial team to review for continuity, formatting, and story issues. Those copies were never publicly distributed or offered for sale. After the review process was complete, the remaining copies were either discarded or kept as collectibles.

The final published edition was extensively revised, with approximately 12,000 additional words added, scenes expanded, continuity issues corrected, and formatting updated. One easy way to determine which version you have is to check the opening of the book. If your copy does not begin with the nightclub prologue, then it is not the final published edition.

This was also my very first novella as an author, and like many first projects, it taught me a great deal about writing, editing, continuity, and the publishing process. The lessons I learned from that book helped shape everything that followed.

If you're willing, don't give up on me just yet. I'd encourage you to try one of my later works, especially Tender Eyes. It represents a much more developed version of my storytelling style and the direction the series eventually grew into.

Thank you for responding. The copy I have says first edition and has an ISBN and barcode; however, it starts with her waking up and having an experience with a dark figure and a feeling of it crawling into her bed. The copy I have is 161 pages.
