Roman Kurys This made me pause and think. “Intelligence may be a gift, but it still has the price which we have to pay”. How true this is. Thank you!

Adina ( not enough time ) Roman wrote: "This made me pause and think. “Intelligence may be a gift, but it still has the price which we have to pay”. How true this is. Thank you!" It is scaryly true sometimes.

Vicky "phenkos" Beautiful review, Adina! And isn't it lovely that you gifted it to your father and he shared his thoughts with you! I'm aware of this book but haven't read, so I will look for a copy asap!

message 33: by Liz V. (new)

Liz V. I have no idea whether the 1968 movie adheres to the original story but, fyi, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charly

Andrei Harin great job reading it in the plane, you understood only the style of writing and the idea that there was an experiment and a man got smart, great job, amazing. In a short sentence, you failed and got even the time to write this review. Feel free to read my review and get some deep ideas.
Reading fast a book of this calibre is the same as not reading it.

message 37: by Federico (new)

Brian Just recently started sharing books with my daughter, since she has a bit more free time for reading. Three kids put a stranglehold on her efforts previously. I've always shared books with my boys, whom are both readers, but our interests aligned more. Fun to be drawn into my daughter's world of interest, and sharing mindful discussions about our findings on different books. Loved your review, and the bonus thoughts from your dad!

I hope to do the same when mine grow older. So far, I did discovered some interesting authors for children. And some bad ones.
