Rickey As much as I love Age of Apocalypse, I almost wish it hadn't happened just so X-Men wouldn't keep going back to the same formatted story.

I get that. I LOVED AoA...I was deeply invested when it came out, as I was in high school at the time and very dramatic. (Me to a friend when Professor X was shot: "WHY COULDN'T IT HAVE BEEN ME INSTEAD??"). But, I take your point. This whole Revelation thing is a very weak simulacrum of AoA.

Rickey Same here for the timeline. I was for Xavier getting shot though, something about him always struck me as "wrong." Fastforward to another 20 secrets that he kept from the X-Men for the greater good and him becoming Onslaught and I was happy to see Cyclops whack him again in AvX. What's funny is I loved Xavier in Krakoa because he was completely aloof and emotionless. It felt like he was finally being written accurately to me.
For the AoA retreads, the worst was Age of X-Man. I LOVED Nate Grey and had every single issue of X-Man. To see him butchered in that way hurt me. I feel like Revelation will do same as I fell in love with Cypher in Krakoan Age.

Agreed on all fronts!
