Poetry is personal. One poem in this volume was, to me, quite fascinating, "Playing Tennis with the Dead." A short poem. Yet I can see how many people may think it quite minor and blow it off.
Much as most of the rest of these poems in "Another City" did not appeal to me. The author seems to be writing more to himself than an audience, not allowing entry. Or so I felt. You may feel welcomed. That's the thing about poetry.
