Shashank Great review. Conroy's passion and your enjoyment of it come across so well. Conroy was one of the authors that got me into reading in early high school. I loved his Prince of Tides (which has one of the best opening sentences!), and Beach Music in their bigger than life characters, sweeping plots, overflowing emotions and a love for the rhythm of language.

I really enjoy books about reading; particularly reflecting over a whole reading life. My only real disappointment in this reading memoir was that it was so short! I would have loved it to be twice as long. His love for Thomas Wolfe is infectious while also kind of reflecting a fading influence on modern times. Rarely do I meet people who love Wolfe like readers of an older generation did. Hope you enjoy Conroy's novels.

The whole things was so infectious! Yes, want to reread Wolfe--and Conroy!
