As for Lady Beatrice — she is without question my favourite supporting character I have written so far. She reminds us that a woman's worth has nothing to do with her youth or her appearance, and everything to do with the depth of what she has lived and chosen. I find her extraordinary.
For each of my books I write bonus chapters dedicated to a beloved supporting character, and this book is no exception. It is the story of how Lady Beatrice met the man who would change her life — not by offering her protection or status, but by expanding her horizons and awakening a mind that the world had tried to keep small.
