The same held true for the 2021 film BELFAST directed by Kenneth Branagh. Sitting through 1 hr 38 min sans subtitles, I left the theater having virtually no idea what I'd just experienced. Apparently we "Merkins" are supposed to be so accent savvy, we have no trouble with Belfastian, Irish, Scot, Cornish, Welsh, Cockney, Bretagne and the various forms of Brit English. Although it may betray my place in the social caste system, I have to admit I don't get it. Subtitles please.
