I had the same exact issues with the dive scenes! Really disappointed in the lack of accuracy here.
Yes! I came here because of the diving nonsense to see if I was the only one bothered by it. I chose this First Reads book because I love reading about diving. When I read that they were casually diving a wreck in the Atlantic Ocean at 200 feet I knew I was going to be irritated. And the MC being so traumatized from the event with her mom was strange. I get that it would be traumatic but to the point of fear she has seems insane. I suppose it’s probably more guilt than anything because leaving a dive partner at that depth near a wreck is such a huge no no. I’m only 25% in so maybe I’m wrong about some elements.
