T.J. Kirk Sorry. Boring you is the last thing I wanted to do.

But I do have to respectfully ask whether “the characters blur together” is really a fair criticism of the book, or just a way of describing the fact that none of them connected with you personally.

Because those are two very different things.

I don’t think they blur together. Contessa, Golgato, Sorella, Tom Vance, Langston, Piggy, Domino, Ki — these are not characters with the same voice, same worldview, same emotional temperature, or same function in the story. So how exactly did they "blur together"?

If the book left you cold, that’s fair. No argument there. I'm not going to argue you into liking it if you didn't, but I want to understand the critique as thoroughly as I can, because I want to improve on any mistakes I might have made.

Your other criticism is that the book lacks focus, and that's probably fair. The author lacks focus.

Once again, I'm sorry you didn't care for my work. If you'd like a refund, get in touch with me. I certainly don't want you to have paid for an experience you didn't enjoy.
