Ian, hello. Thank you so much for your comments. As a kid, I played all of these tournaments. It was a ton of fun (and sweat!). You're absolutely right to point out some minor rule inconsistencies. I knew this as I was writing, but I took some literary license to create drama. I can see how that wouldn't sit well for someone as knowledgeable as you. But, you've convinced me to make everything align perfectly with the rules and I've done so.
