Glad to see your thoughts. I DNF'd his 2nd novel, How To Read the Air, halfway through out of sheer boredom. Have only heard raves about The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears and plan to read that one.

If anything switching back and forth between the 2 narrators and locations keeps it lively.
I just finished All Our Names, but did not rate it. I wanted to understand it better. I was thrilled to see that you gave it a mixed review. I loved All that Heaven Could Bear and expected and wanted to love this as well. (I follow you on Twitter. I feel like I know you.)
I'm still not ready to review this, but looking at your review validates my confusion. I kept on thinking that I was reading too fast and missing things. But no, they weren't there. As you said, the relationship between Isaac and the narrator was moving and more authentic than the relationship between Helen and the narrator.
