Owlseyes Greenland has "marbles" of other type. He's greedy about those "marbles". But he says it's about "national security".

message 2: by David (new)

David Gustafson Dwight Eisenhower and Winston Churchill have crowned Trump with The Kamala Harris Dingleberry Laurel Wreath for his efforts in destroying NATO.

message 3: by Owlseyes (last edited Jan 22, 2026 11:57AM) (new)

Owlseyes That long wreath knocks out two rabbits in one single blow...

However, Putin ( I know you really don't like him) is leading in the Arctic infrastructure (military included). So, Trump is just trying to catch up.

Owlseyes Hi there David. Maybe you have something to tell us about Iran...in next few hours or days

message 5: by David (last edited Feb 21, 2026 07:57AM) (new)

David Gustafson Iran, Owlseyes?

Unless there is American military intervention on the ground, the IRGC regime will remain in power, murdering tens of thousands of its own citizens.
.
The IRGC may temper the current threat to its existence by agreeing to some sort of long drawn-out diplomatic consultations until Trump’s wave of egotistic narcissism subsides and he loses interest in the situation.
.
The sum of my thoughts on the current Iranian situation: the murder of tens of thousands of Iranians may temporarily subside, but the IRGC will simply outlast Trump’s addiction to the headlines and continue the slaughter at a later date.

message 6: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes Ooo. "Unless". The only way to solve the problem is "boots on the ground".

Situation looks scary, as the US military buildup around Iran continues. Some speculate of WWIII, thus other nations getting involved.

Your take doesn't contemplate (Iran) internal divisions.

Thanks anyway.

P.S. Trump will provide the USA people with a candy: total UFO disclosure 👽👽👽 ...Las Vegas is on the list, for sure. (Besides the Epstein list.)

message 7: by Owlseyes (last edited Mar 01, 2026 02:28AM) (new)

Owlseyes David,

It seems the Ayatollah is gone. Most likely someone (of the same kind) will replace him.

"Mission accomplished" for Trump & Bibi? I guess, no. The Hormuz Strait got shut. How about the oil fields? (..)

"Let's go home", will Trump say?

Or, "let's deploy troops"?

I read somewhere this: "The United States may have simply lit the match for holy war."

message 8: by David (new)

David Gustafson Nothing will have been accomplished unless the Islamic regime is completely replaced.
.
That is unlikely to happen without troops on the ground.
.
A “Holy” war? What a silly conjecture.

message 9: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes Ouch. Totally amazed. Vietnam come again? Iraq... Afghanistan? What a nightmare.

message 10: by David (new)

David Gustafson Iran under the Islamic regime is a nightmare

message 11: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes Very true, nightmare regime. But it seems David has changed. I recall David complaining about Kissinger and the "agent orange" usage in Vietnam.

Has David become an interventionist (abroad)? (..) After 20 years in Afghanistan the US troops made a shameful withdrawal, under Biden. Sorry to recall.

message 12: by David (last edited Mar 02, 2026 06:15AM) (new)

David Gustafson The US had no business getting involved in Vietnam. It was not a threat.
.
Iran and the IRGC?
.
Yes! a thousand times!

message 13: by David (last edited Mar 15, 2026 07:18AM) (new)

David Gustafson Alyosha, the IRGC defies simple logic.
.
That seems to suit your lack of coherence very well.
.
(it seems that Alyosha has deleted his comment)

message 14: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes David,

It seems things are going your way.

"Pentagon sending assault ship, at least 2,500 Marines toward Iran as US works to reopen Strait of Hormuz while oil prices spike
By Steven Nelson
Published March 13, 2026"
In New York Post

Are you happy?

message 15: by David (last edited Mar 15, 2026 01:15PM) (new)

David Gustafson I remain unconvinced that Trump will put boots on the ground.
.
If not, the IRGC will simply reestablish its weakened hold upon the country by slaughtering hundreds of thousands of the Iranian opposition in cold blood to cage them inside the iron fence of mortal fear.
.
We shall see…I doubt that Trump understands what will happen if the IRGC is not completely obliterated and replaced.
.
His ravenous ego is stoked by short term headlines, photo-ops and press conferences, not by common sense and careful planning.
.
For the record, things would not be any better in Persia under a zombie like Biden, a dingleberry like Kamala Harris nor an Islamic servant like Barack Hussein Obama.
.
And for those of you with an historical itch to scratch about playing in the same sand box with Islam, just ask Chat GPT if Winston Churchill, the twentieth century’s most intelligent leader, ever retracted his early writing comparing Islam to rabies.

message 16: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes 50,000 American troops in the Middle East. Soon the " invasion"...or just Kharg island?

David, things going your way. You should be happy.

message 17: by David (last edited Apr 04, 2026 08:48AM) (new)

David Gustafson Doubtful.
.
Trump’s attention span is too short and impatient for the spin of history.
.
I suspect Trump will stop short of the complete destruction of the IRGC and claim a “negotiated” victory. Temporary victory would be a more accurate choice of words.
.
Then the IRGC will simply take its time, reasserting its stranglehold on the nation by executing thousands upon thousands of dissident Persians.

message 18: by David (last edited Apr 13, 2026 10:45AM) (new)

David Gustafson In regards to President Trump releasing a meme portraying himself as Jesus healing a sick man while America is matching the IRGC’s explosive confusion in Iran…..
.
May I offer the very personal opinion of a devout Catholic….
.
According to the reliable Dystopian Times, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will soon be starring in a parody entitled, “Two Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”
.
The Holy Trinity of Greta Thunberg, Barack Obama and Pope Leo have been promised supporting roles as faithful servants of Islam.
.
Stay tuned…….things can only get just a tad more bizarre.

message 19: by David (last edited Apr 15, 2026 08:24PM) (new)

David Gustafson Journalism’s most trustworthy outlet, The Dystopian Times, has just reported that with the approval of Saint Peter, H.L. Mencken, the Archangel of Heavenly Spoofdom, is being placed in charge of minting a very special memorial coin.
.
This invaluable keepsake depicts Donald Trump on the obverse side strutting around within a reproduction of that now famous meme featuring The Donald mimicking Jesus healing the world and a sick man
.
While on the reverse side, Pope Leo of Chicago is featured before Istanbul’s Blue Mosque above his engraved words urging the world to be less fearful of Islam….at the very same time as Muslims are slaughtering thousands of Christians in Nigeria.
.
Timing is everything….or so they say.
.
We suspect that the former Chicagoan Mr. Mencken might be a Cubs fan extracting a little revenge upon another one of those clueless White Sox fans on the reverse side of history, faith and common sense,
.
Unfortunately for collectors, at least according to The Dystopian Times, Saint Peter is only allowing these coins to be showered down upon the suffering inhabitants of the burning nether world.
.
Is this their eternal reward for purple hair, tattoos and all of those septum rings, wonders a curious Catholic Cubs fan in Vegas?
.
Hmmmmmmmm?

"Jesus told us, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers,’ but woe to those who manipulate religion in the very name of God for their own military, economic, or political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth.”
— Pope Leo XIV today in Cameroon

message 21: by David (last edited Apr 20, 2026 03:18PM) (new)

David Gustafson .
Mr. Owlseyes,
.
For the sake of their children, the thousands upon thousands of Nigerian Christians slaughtered by Pope Leo’s “peaceful Muslims”only wish that they were still here to agree with the “Blessed are the peacemakers….” part of the quote taken out of context.
.
Meanwhile, the most timely and influential Dystopian Times has an answer-begging headline survey on its front page.
.
Who Will Come In Second?
.
Donald Dingleberries, the very FIRST Pope of Greenland or Pope Leotard, the very FIRST Pope of “peaceful” Islam?

The suffering inhabitants of the burning nether world are the only ones allowed to vote in this survey which should give us an idea if their number are only in the billions or……as most believers believe…..the trillions.

message 22: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes Looks like David doesn't like this Pope.

message 23: by David (new)

David Gustafson Time will tell….

message 24: by David (new)

David Gustafson The Dystopian Times reports that the IRGC has just sent Trump a birthday burka that he can strut around in for the rest of history as a thank you for ensuring the long term survival of such a beloved terrorist organization

message 25: by Owlseyes (last edited Jun 17, 2026 01:00AM) (new)

Owlseyes David doesn't agree with the "deal"?

(since March , I guess, it had been announced 39 times, I guess again)

message 26: by David (last edited Jun 16, 2026 08:25AM) (new)

David Gustafson It is a “deal” that guarantees that the IRGC will remain ìn power and gradually reestablish its terrorist activities throughout the Middle East as Trump’s short attention span fades away.
.
The beat goes on….

message 27: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes David's solution: neutron (atomic) bomb Iran?

message 28: by David (last edited Jun 16, 2026 09:05AM) (new)

David Gustafson If boots had been put on the ground two months ago, the Iranian opposition would have joined in and the IRGC might have lost its stranglehold.
.
Now it is too late.
.
Like Viet Nam, Iraq and Afghanistan, this war was over before it began.
.
The IRGC is victorious and America has been defeated for the fourth time in recent memory because of its historical illiteracy.
.
Trump will be seen dancing through the pages of history in his birthday burka for a thousand-and-one years.

message 29: by Owlseyes (last edited Jun 17, 2026 01:00AM) (new)

Owlseyes I see through that 1,001 Arab (ic) twist...

message 30: by David (new)

David Gustafson You have x-ray vision.

message 31: by David (last edited Jun 17, 2026 02:24PM) (new)

David Gustafson Donald Trump angrily fired back after The Dystopian Times dismissed reports that the President was seen celebrating his Bigly Peace deal with Iran by belly dancing before cheering IRGC units while wearing his birthday burka.
.
The Dystopian Times asserted that it is practically impossible to properly belly dance while wearing a burka.
.
Trump responded by declaring, “ I can do anything I put my brilliant mind to, you fake news bitches!
.
Just watch!
.
I can even give those Iranian mullah weirdos more pallets of billions than that slithering creeper Barack Obama did!
.
Just watch!”

message 32: by David (last edited Jul 04, 2026 08:37AM) (new)

David Gustafson July 4th
.
How great can a country be considered if its culture no longer produces any meaningful literature, poetry, theatre, music, art or cinema?

message 33: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes I'm very curious about that sentence. When did the USA stop producing "meaningful" culture?

Cheers

message 34: by David (last edited 21 hours, 42 min ago) (new)

David Gustafson An exact date? Impossible.
.
So go through the list.
.
Who was America's last meaningful author? Poet? Playwright? Composer? Artist? Film director?
.
Could you come up with anyone in this century?

message 35: by Owlseyes (last edited 5 hours, 6 min ago) (new)

Owlseyes The good ones I can recall, 20th century onwards

1- architect Loyd Wright

2- painter Norman Rockwell

3- writer John Steinbeck

4- film makers, George Stevens, Orson Welles, Francis Ford Coppola, Stanley Kubrick, Milos Forman, Oliver Stone, Terrence Malik...*

5- composers, John Williams, Samuel Barber, Eric Whitcare, Morten Lauridsen

* Christopher Nolan is "British-American". But he's good.

message 36: by David (new)

David Gustafson A subtle reminder….most of the names that you mentioned that carry any weight are from the previous century.
.
The ones that you came up with from THIS century? Which was the question…..
.
Not so much.

message 37: by Owlseyes (new)

Owlseyes Nolan, Whitacre, John Williams, Malick, Oliver Stone, and (to a lesser extent) Coppola and Lauridsen are 21st century figures
