Do you have any recommendations for someone new to the idea of narrative preaching (but who has read numerous works on exegesis, hermeneutics, and homiletics)?

Thanks for the message, Elizabeth. For starters, I would recommend Preaching: The Art of Narrative Exposition by Calvin Miller and The Homiletical Plot by Eugene Lowry. These will give you a good foundation for narrative preaching.

Then, I would follow up with Preaching from Inside the Story by Jeffrey Frymire and Real People, Real Faith by Cindy Halvoson. Both of these books explore how to preach the narratives of Biblical characters.
