Hi all, I'm asking this for advice about my own solarpunk novel's cover art: When you look at the cover art for New York 2140 by KSR (our monthly read for the group) do you value how the city is depicted for you to better imagine it while reading? If the cover art was something else, like a character's face, or abstract "eco-textures" or some other not-so descriptive cover art, would you feel more free to imagine the world yourself? Would you feel less likely to read the book? Do you prefer the sense of place the cover art gives you?
Love the cover. I’ve seen the book tagged under Cover Porn. Solarpunk should be colorful and evocative, the New York 2140 cover is both.

Science fiction relating to technology often sounds daunting, and it did when I first heard of this book, but it's really not. Not when you start reading it. It's the story of a man who lost his wife, and eventually, he made a spa resort which used spanking to help couples truly find and grow in love for one another. The computer behind it all (named Cheeky, and programmed by his deceased wife) really almost seemed to be more of another natural human character the more I continued to read.
Spanking relationships really are a beautiful thing, as this book shows in a way so few others could. It would be impossible for me to say anything eloquent enough to do it justice other than that a realization of its need really can exist, and blossom in a beautiful way where couples can come to realize more about each other and glow in a special type of happiness that goes beyond words, and yet which this book somehow still shows.

Hello All! Loved backing Solarpunk Magazine. Thank you for sharing it last month! We also had a successful kickstarter (in August) for our new book on how communities come together to harness their own solar power and how others can do the same. My bad on not posting that Kickstarter link here.

Greetings fellow solarpunks,My first book, Otherwise Elsewhere, was published early last month after the start of the new year. There are a lot of interconnected solarpunk, ecological, and climate topics explored through the many worlds of a science fantasy story that works toward creating a philosophical foundation to increase the probability of a more optimistic future.

I think this submissions call for an anthology could be interesting to authors writing solarpunk. The book will be called The Future’s So Bright … and the guidelines on the publishers site are as follows:If you could catch a glimpse of the future, what would you hope to see? An environmentally-friendly paradise? High-tech advancements? Newly-evolved species of wildlife?
For this collection, we want positive visions of the future. Show us terraces covered in gardens and solar panels, sprawling colonies under glass on Mars, and the explorers of tomorrow. Tell us what you think cities will look like in the year 2300, what it would be like to take a cruise on a spaceship, or what new organisms might evolve in the Amazon rain forest.
Science fiction, fantasy, humor, and weird fiction are all welcome.
