Hi John
Firstly, this folder is entitled Questions from Librarians Only. This means it is meant to be used by Goodreads Librarians only.
Secondly, while there is a Moderator named Libby in this forum I have never seen her post here.
Thirdly, do not respond to this email. If it is from a Gmail account then it will be a scam. You can try reporting here;
https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...
but I doubt if there is anything Support (Staff) can do.
The person they are misrepresenting is Libby Roin, the Chief Executive Officer of Goodreads. That same Libby is the one in this forum.
Hardly likely that the CEO of Goodreads takes time from her CEO duties to monitor a group of volunteer librarians. As Carol pointed out, this email is most likely a phishing attempt. As such, it's strongly advised not to click on any links within the email.A quick Google search does provide possible ways of contacting Ms. Roin should you wish to pursue this further. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that the email you received is legitimately from a Goodreads employee.
Several authors have posted to Goodreads Help with similar stories, asking if someone from Goodreads really emailed them. The answer is no. Authors get these messages all the time, and they often use real people's names. They lure people in with compliments about their books and say things like "I'd love to help you promote it." It's to try to get money.
Unfortunately it is sad people take advantage of authors this way; it is a very common scam.
Just ignore the email or use the "mark as spam" feature on it.
I'm sorry this happened to you.

I am reaching out here on the platform to verify an email I received this morning at my info inbox.
The message was sent from a generic address, goodreadslibrariansgroup.libby@gmail.com, and shares some incredibly kind and thoughtful reflections on my children's book, You Matter, Luma. It mentions being from a moderator named Libby with this group.
Because it came from a standard Gmail address rather than an official Goodreads domain, I just wanted to do a quick, friendly check directly on the platform to see if this was a genuine message from you, or if it might be an outside lookalike account. I just want to ensure I'm responding to the right person!
Thank you for your time and for everything you do to keep this community safe!
Best regards,
John
