I agree that the book was crap, but let's not hold authors hostage by telling them they are not able to use certain plot points. People out there read about all sorts of things but killing a dog being over the line is so weird to me. Saying this as a dog lover/parent.
Agreed. Any book that kills off a dog or other animal is an automatic SNF for me
How do you function in the real world? Surely you're not an adult? Of course there are reasons to kill a dog in a novel.

The dog was so unnecessary!!!! The book was over! It served no purpose! And made me hate Denny even more. He seemed so unfazed by it! Ugh.
well I mean there are reasons, but tbh the dog was the only likeable thing in this book
But killing the PEOPLE in the book is OK? LOL
