I really appreciate you highlighting the terfs hiding behind this “concern” for Lindy West. I don’t personally care for her but I really enjoyed and was saddened by her experiences on a This American Life episode about the sheer hatred she received throughout the years. That Helen Lewis article went viral where even people at work where mentioning it and I’m like, that woman is famous for creating a hysteria about Trans youth and medical transitioning and acting like she was the Queen of mid 2000s feminism is laughable and erases the amazing work of Womanist and Black women writers that were people on the internet during that time as well.

Anyway, kudos for this review. It was a great breakdown of the book and the noise surrounding it.

god, i love this review. really calls out the true intentions of the backlash. the book itself needed more reflection and more time to live up to its own goal, but A weirdly massive amount of people made their personal goals using this book as the spring board to tear West down
