I have more than one friend whose favorite epic is Beowulf. I have to go with the Aeneid because I used to teach Latin.
I'm not sure if we read bits of The Aeneid in my classic and folk epic class. I had to look it up just now to see what it's about. And while I recognize the premise, I just don't know WHY I recognize it.
