I was disappointed by the lack of an overt faith message, too (I absolutely love how didactic GLH is) and agree that the only GLH connection is that the heroine wrote similar novels. It felt like they were using her name to grab more readers. I enjoyed the novel for what it was, but was confused/disappointed by GLH being used to market it, when it was so very different from her fare. Having read two GLH biographies, I kept expecting the heroine’s life to mirror Grace’s, and it certainly didn’t.
