I felt the same way. Hard book to read. But it gave me so much to think about. By taking things to an extreme, it shows what is rotten at the core of our performative culture where people confuse performing values in public with actually holding values and living values regardless of who is watching. And all in the name of making money. Nothing is sacred in this performance and pursuit of money. Not family, not marriage, not kids, not God.
YES- well written but just felt yucky and icky. Which I know was the intent. But still *shudders*
