Scout I've never been a soccer fan. I've had no idea about the rules of the game. But old dogs need mental stimulation, so I've started watching and learning. I like the game because it doesn't take forever to watch a match. I don't like the clock. Counting down instead of up makes more sense. I like the spirit of the fans and the players: it makes me feel good. I've yet to understand what "off side" means. I've learned what a nutmeg is. The chanting and singing are cool. I like the way the players stay on the field after the game, absorbing the enthusiasm of the fans. It's totally different from American football, more personal, fun to watch even though there's not constant excitement. But when something happens, it's exciting. I'm rooting for the US, but I watch other games, too. The Argentina game against Cape Verde was exciting. This old dog is now a soccer fan at the age of 72.

Nik Krasno Cool 🆒 to have new fans here 😎 I guess that was the most basic idea of having this tournament in North America- to popularize the sport in the US, as it’s number 1 pretty much everywhere else.
Off side is when an attacking player is behind the back of the last defender. To be on the same line is onside, but behind is off as it gives an advantage to the attacker.
So far France looked most convincing, then - Argentina. Morocco seems to be gaining momentum, while Brazil, England and Spain are still kinda sleepy.
Germany and Holland are out early - a surprise of a sort .
I manage to catch a game here and there and hope to watch more once we approach final stages.
It might be the last tournament for many stars like Messi, Ronaldo, Modric, Neimar. A bit sad, but an opportunity for them to impress with their swan 🦢 song.
⚽️

Nik Krasno Spain vs Argentina sounds like a promising final.
How Spain demolished talent-rich France was quite remarkable and unexpected.
England going bunker after scoring the goal was fateful, they had it coming...
