I loved “The Woman in the Library “ but this one….not so much! Great review!

Exactly! The bad guys felt like someone's cliche of "bad guys" not something that could conceivably happen.

I agree with your review, this book lost it in the second half. However, you shouldn't give up on Sulari Gentill, her The Woman in the Library was really good! Much better altogether than this one.
