Interesting! I was worried about it when I started reading but I thought the diary entry style actually worked pretty well. But yes, super bleak. Kinda book you finish and just stare at the ceiling for an hour.
@buddy I’m definitely in a bad mood now!! 😂😭 so bleak, I just wish there was *a bit* more. The revelations of why the world ended were sooooo good, I guess I was wanting more of the downfall but that’s not what this story is about. I might be updating my rating soon.
Thank you for this review! I kept going back and forth on whether or not to add this one to my TBR. I think I'll hold off for now because I REALLY have to be in the mood for something horribly bleak and right now I don't think I can do it.

I bought this book right after I finished Tender Is the Flesh. I really like tales of the occult. If you're telling me this book is bleak, depressing and brutal - this is my cup of tea!
I agree 100%. I was so excited for this but left me overall underwhelmed.
