I agree! The writing is terrible; the heavy reliance on coincidence annoying. As you said, there are no interesting characters. There id nothing redeeming about this book.
Totally agree. I gave it one star. The prison break was so unbelievable. Ridiculous. This is my 3rd book by him and I was bored with all. I have on more from the publisher to review but I don’t get the hype. Really agree with you review. Some really top reviewers raving and giving it 5 stars has me wondering if we read the same book? Utterly conflicting.
Which of his other books have you read? I find his earlier ones to be SO good but his recent ones have all been duds.

No DBA test on a dead child, and then only a paternity test?
Cartoon characters all of them.
He should be in prison for threatening and hurting the people he encountered along the way.
That guy ditched his pensions for him?
Is the kid getting counselling?

That and “obfuscate.” i’m almost done it. I’m listening to it on audio, and it’s just awful. I can’t stand it. It’s too violent, too annoying, and too dragged out . I’m only finishing it so I can get to the supposed big twist at the end.
