Suzanne Perkins I was stunned by how little these characters liked each other. None of them had done anything so horrible that real people wouldn't have found something to like in their dad or mom or kid. The whole book was depressing and dull.

Judy The ending for me was unexpected and a bit disturbing. I'd read "Life After Life" so I was familiar with the Todd family, and assumed that this was the life where Teddy survived the war and married his childhood sweetheart Nancy.

And then when his plane goes down Atkinson has his daughter and grandchildren disintegrate. Unlikable as Viola and Sunny were, I believed they were real characters in the in book.

I know it's fiction and all the characters are made up, but I had a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that what happened in this book didn't happen.
