Hello, books cannot be assigned to user profiles. I moved your books to a new author profile that you can claim: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

If you already have an author profile, please provide a link to it. If not, please claim the profile above. If you have any other books, please provide links to them as well.

To claim the profile, go to the author page linked above and click “Is this you? Let us know.” on desktop, then complete the Author Program application.

Cole Beckett Thank you Tami. This worked, but it has happened again with my second book.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

I did claim that author account so you should be able to attribute that book to me.

It seems goodreads automatically attributes to that other author when I post a new book to Amazon, is there a way to prevent this from happening in the future or will I have to do this for each book?

You're welcome! I moved the book to your profile.

This is expected behavior. When new books are imported from Amazon, the bot assigns them to the default author profile for that name when there is more than one author with the same name. The books then have to be moved manually by librarians. Claiming an author profile doesn't affect future imports; it only gives you access to manage that specific profile.

So yes, if this happens again with a future book, you'll need to post another request and a librarian can move it to the correct author profile.
