Thank you for keeping in touch with him. It seems like he had a few people that did, but most days must have been very lonely - knowing that a visit or a letter would eventually come gave him some strength and hope.
Thanks! I do love this man and he has been a great help to me too but yes his life needs more colour and outlook then prison gives so I help.
I'm so thankful for people like you who are willing to recognize human dignity in all people and even moreso that Jim has had you in his life for these decades. This story is incredibly important and this book is a really strong vehicle for telling it. While it may be too much to hope that it frees Jim, unfortunately Florida these days is not a great place for him to be, but hopefully it might open some people's eyes to the risks of jailhouse witnesses and the lengths some prosecutors will go to protect their win/loss record or to grandstand for voters who don't even seem to understand when crime is going down.
That's my long rant, but thank you for sharing your story and for commenting here. Wishing you all the best.

I am glad you loved it. His story is hard and sad bit the man is NOT. He is the most joyeous person I know. That of course makes the story of his life even More tragic. STILL i am lucky to have him in my life!

There might at any point be a need for a big public outcry because of positve action or an emergency ( Florida is on a very scary killing spree, with all 3 death watch cells occupied constantly). So please keep an eye out on the news or mine or Death Penalty Action or The FADP's social media! If we need you you will hear it that way.
Enjoyed your part of the story. Really remarkable to become a friend to him and believe his innocence along the way. He could have been another PS. There’s nothing possible I could say to make any of this better for Jim but it makes me happy that he had your support and that of his family the entire way through this. It takes a lot to stand with someone for so long under those circumstances. What a crime by so many people to leave him there. If there’s an afterlife I hope he has the best one of all.
My gut trusted him very early on as he was and is a very solid guy and he was very open about his addictions and took full responsibility for the falling apart of his family. The way his people showed up for him is what solidified it for me! It is hard but he is the most joyeous, funniest, most caring person I know. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. He isn't the burden. The system is traumatising even for us on the outside but he is worth it. Your last line made me sob....
I thought the author did an outstanding job with her research. The story did not end the way I had hoped but that is reality. I absolutely believe in Jim’s innocence and pray the state of Florida will do the right thing.
He is a solid believer in prayer so on his behalf also Thank You!

At first, when I was reading the book, I thought you and he would grow to be love interest. But you were more than that. You were a lifeline in a sea of confusion and a storm that was drawing closer and closer to death. I hope you get to see him out from behind bars someday.
He would tell you there is bucket loads of Friendship Love!!!!! And he has my back as much as he has mine! But I can't wait to see him walk into Mary Kays arma outside that prisongate. It is exactly where he belongs!!!! I am so glad our relationship ( or lack thereoff) was so clear to you but it was definitely a worry to us that it wouldn't be. But Pam is great and she got it right.
