Cathy Dr. Miller, your novels have been among my favorites over the last few years. A few of the characters you created really stuck with me. What I'm trying to say is that I love your writing. Personally, youtube is not all that appealing but I'd give it a look. However, if you offered an ongoing essay series or podcast on your return to this country I'm 100% in!

Derek Miller Thanks for the kind words. I'm never on YouTube, and obviously I'd much prefer to write, but these days I wonder who is reading. But yes, maybe it will be a Substack or something. So at the moment I'm curious to see whether the concept appeals. Warm wishes.

Maggie I still read and I love your books, but I am 87 years old, so I guess that doesn't count for much. I hope you keep writing, at least as long as I am here!

Mackay Of course I'd be interested in your take on the U.S., but I have to say, this is not the country you recall. I feel like an outsider in my home nation these days. Were I in your shoes, I'd stay where you are.

Penny Stay where you are. Or move to Iceland. It's not good here anymore.

It counts for more because time is precious and I'm honored you're spending it with Sheldon and Rhea and Saul and the boy; Arwood and Benton and Marta; Sigrid and Irv; Lilly, Henry and Graham; Sheldon (again) and Lenny; and Pietro and Massimo. There's also QUIET TIME on audio with Mikiwa and Robert and the girls trying to adjust to American life.

I hope to keep writing as long as I'm here too! Warmest wishes. — Derek

Thank you so much. I'm here to write books, but it strikes me that the return after so many years (much longer than Odysseus was away) is worth sharing. I just need to think of how (in this day and age). All the best.

Linda As a retired librarian I always prefer books (kindle rather than paper, for mobility issues) but I'd certainly check out your YouTube channel. Welcome home!
