Never mind, I just put the book up for preorder earlier than I wanted to in order to get the page added. It would be very helpful if pre-publication authors could add their own books, or if this system had more librarians, an orderly queueing system, and/or any sort of guarantee of adding the book within any reasonable amount of time.

Hi Emma, you've placed your request in the folder 'closed'. Please write your request in the correct folder for adding books and editions. The librarians have more than 5500 requests for adding new books, but we are trying our best to add the ones from new authors as fast as possible so you can claim your author profiles. Once you have your first book in the database and you've claimed your book, you can add all your new editions and books yourself without our help. I'm currently not at my computer, so it is not possible for me to do it now.

Hi Eline, thank you so much for the response, I understand. I moved the thread to closed because I took a different action than the manual add system. The post from Friday was buried on page 20 in the open adds group (#550), and there are still posts open from all the way back to April. With prioritization left up to individual volunteers rather than first come first serve, and with the guidelines being to bump one's own post at most once a week, it was impossible to estimate a timeline to tell reviewers for when the page would be available.

As a result, I decided to just make the e-book available for preorder. There is now a Goodreads page for it, so I moved the thread to the closed group.

I would have preferred to wait a couple more weeks before starting preorders, but this system makes it very difficult for new authors. I just wish there were a way to bootstrap adding one's own preorder books without waiting on the volunteer librarians, who I realize are working voluntarily and have a lot of requests to get through, so absolutely no shade on the volunteers. Just that the system is immensely frustrating as a new author trying to get their page up for ARC reviews, where if you add your request at the wrong moment it is instantly buried under hundreds of other requests and there's no way to know how long the request will take.
