Kurt Reichenbaugh What's going on with this one, Michelle? Put aside for another time, or did it just not work for you? I've only read one of his books and I liked it enough to try another by him at some point.

I just could not get into this. The writing seemed a little juvenile. My first three Cutter books were a huge success but his last three - one was 1 star and this and the other were DNF's. I don't know if I've changed as a reader or he's changed as writer but we aren't clicking anymore and I'm kind of bummed about it if I'm being honest.

Ah, I see. I get it. That's too bad. I liked The Troop and I've been interested in reading more by him. I still consider myself a big horror fan, but I've been kind of left cold by much of what's out there now. I'm missing the days of reading something like GHOST STORY or FALLING ANGEL. Anyway, love your reviews. Good luck with the next find.

Thanks for the kind words, Kurt! I totally get what you're saying. I love horror but I am often left unimpressed. I'll say, aside from this one, I've had pretty good luck with the genre this year. In fact, the one I started reading today, The Man in the Watch Still Visits Me at Night, has me completely enthralled. This could very well end up being one of my favorite books of the year assuming it doesn't go screeching off the rails. 🤞
