Brendan Hate to be a pedant, but Foster is David Foster Wallace's middle name - there's no sense in calling him "Foster Wallace" as if it was a double-barrelled last name.

Steve Oh dear! I really liked this book. I admit it was repetitive, but I thought Boon had an incredible way with words.

You love it, be honest. :)) I agree, although not everyone may know what Wallace I'm referring to. Has he reached mythical last name status?

Steve: Another year, any other week, this book may have stunned. I liked My Little War, mind you.

Sandro Not much point in reading this one before Chapel Road, as it's the continuation of that story. Also, I haven't read the English translation, but I would consider this nigh untranslatable, so I can imagine a lot of the "lower case, repetitive waffle" doesn't come across as intended.

Michael Kaptein It’s a Belgian epic. It’s just written in Dutch.
