Hello everyone — glad to join. I’m especially drawn to first-contact stories and space opera, particularly when the big ideas are matched by believable crew dynamics. I’m always looking for thoughtful ebook recommendations in that vein; what have you enjoyed lately?

Welcome, Martin. For first contact with believable crews: Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky (the alien half of the story is the part people remember), Project Hail Mary if you haven't got to it yet, and Semiosis by Sue Burke, which does first contact from the settlers' side across several generations. For space opera where the crew is the point, Becky Chambers' The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet is the obvious one, and Arkady Martine's A Memory Called Empire if you like politics with your spaceships.
