I just wanted to let everyone know that I finally baked "Cherry Winks" out of Joanne Fluke's Lake Eden Cookbook. The cookies were divine and I look forward to cooking/baking lots more. If you don't have the cookbook, the recipe is listed in "Fudge Cupcake Murder."

The Blue Blueberry Muffins from BLUEBERRY MUFFIN MURDER are wonderful! I have the cookbook, but haven't really looked at it much.

Thanks for your comments. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but now you've gotten my mouth watering!

I saw a review somewhere else about this cookbook and it received poor ratings. Would you suggest getting this cookbook? I loved the recipes in all the books (no I haven't baked them all) but I would love to have them all in one place. What are your feelings? Worth the money?

If you'd like to have the recipes for the whole series, then you will be disappointed because it's just from 1-10 or Chocolate chip cookie murder to Carrot Cake Murder.
I think it's worth every penny ,because I love the series and look forward to volume two of the cookbook. Now with that said, I would have loved some pictures of the finished product, that would have put it over the top for me.
By the way, there are some never before published recipes in the book and there are some illustrations.

I really like the cookbook! I have all of her books, and have baked a number of recipes from the books (including the funeral hotdish which was soo yummy! and a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head, but they were all delicious!)

The recipes are from her books, but there are a bunch of new ones too. I love how she explains the recipe steps in foolproof terms.

My only complaint (and I haven't read the whole book yet) is that there are no pictures. I would have liked that!

Yeah, I did hear about there not being pictures, but I'm okay with that. Is it inclusive to 1-10 or just select ones? And I didn't know there was going to be a volume 2.

This is a good thread. It makes me think we should have a general thread too about recipes from all cozies that have recipes where people can mention the book and whether they liked or disliked certain recipes. I always look at them and never make them. There have been a few in the Goldy Bear series I have thought about making before.

This is a great idea Heidi - I'm all for it! I've tried recipes from several of my books and it would be great to hear feedback from others who have tried recipes as well.

Darlene, I do believe that all the recipes are included from 1-10. I don't really know that there will be a volume two; just speculating since this first one doesn't have all the recipes after Carrot Cake Murder

I think a general thread about the recipes would be awesome! I love this forum :)

I wonder if I should put the general recipe thread in this folder -- I will check all the folders out first.

I don't have the cookbook, but I tried several of her recipes from the series. They are pretty good. I just type them into a Word file.

Do you know if the author made up the recipes herself?

This is on my "to buy" list. Her books make me so hungry!

One of the things I enjoy most about the Hannah Swensen books is how the recipes feel connected to the story instead of being added as an afterthought. The series has inspired many readers to try the cookies, bars, and desserts featured throughout the books. I also like browsing https://dairyqueenmenus.us/ for dessert ideas since seeing different treats often motivates me to experiment with new flavors at home.

I think the TV series on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries does a good job of integrating the food/recipes into the movies. I wish they would make more movie mysteries from cozy mystery novels. JoeCosentino.weebly.com
