Hello everyone!My name is Juan Carlos Toral (J.C. Toral), and I'm excited to join this community. I'm a lifelong fan of science fiction and thrillers, especially stories that delve into the impact of technology, AI, and the high-stakes future battles that might await us. I'm based in Madrid, Spain.
Beyond being an avid reader, I've also recently taken the plunge into writing. My debut novel in English, "SWANWAKE: ECHOES OF FUTURE BATTLES," just launched on Amazon Kindle this week! It's a sci-fi technothriller that kicks off with a devastating city-wide blackout, sparking a futuristic war for AI supremacy, and follows characters fighting for survival amidst cyberwarfare, advanced drones, and deep-seated conspiracies.
To celebrate the launch, I'm planning a free promotion on Amazon Kindle starting tomorrow: Thursday, May 22nd, through Saturday, May 24th. I thought some of you might be interested in checking it out during the free days.

Hi! Thanks for having me in the group. I'm Kristie Wolf. I'm an indie author of military and smalltown romantic suspense. My Project VIPER Series is about a team of special forces amputees who have been outfitted by the military with bionic, weaponized prosthetics and engineered into super soldiers. Books one and two, Too Dangerous to Love (opposites attract and bodyguard/alpha hero), and Too Lethal to Love (second chance, fake dating, and bodyguard/alpha hero) are out. Book Three, Too Guarded to Love, will be released in September.

I’m Peter J Charles, writing crime fiction under my pen name. My debut novel A Detective’s Dilemma draws heavily on lived experience. I’m ex‑military and later served in the drug squad in Surrey Police in the UK, working surveillance, undercover operations, and informant handling. In short: I’ve been there and done it.These days my focus is on building a credible crime series with procedural authenticity at its core. Every detail is pressure‑tested for realism, from dialogue to atmosphere. I’m here to connect with fellow crime and thriller readers and writers, and to share the journey of launching A Detective’s Dilemma.

Hi everyone — I’m A. A. Edwards, a new author based in the UK.I haven’t been writing very long. In fact, I only started while recovering from bowel cancer. Writing began as something to help me get through recovery, give my days purpose, and make sense of everything that had happened — and somewhere along the way, it turned into something I genuinely fell in love with.
My first two books were non-fiction self-help titles, drawn from lived experience. But Bristol Summer is my first step into fiction — and crime fiction felt like the natural place for me to land.
I’m drawn to flawed characters. People who make mistakes, carry guilt, and don’t always get things right — but who are given the space to confront themselves and, hopefully, find some form of redemption. That’s the kind of story I love reading, and the kind I enjoy writing.
I come from a working-class background and still very much write from that perspective. I live in the UK, and Bristol plays a big role in my storytelling — not just as a setting, but as a living, breathing character in its own right.
Things have started to get unexpectedly exciting recently too — I’ve been invited to take part in a live BBC radio interview, which still feels a bit surreal for someone who only began writing during recovery.
I’m really looking forward to being part of this group, discovering new authors, and learning from fellow crime fiction fans.

Introducing myself and my series to this group. I write the Jackson Gamble PI mystery series — five books set in Nashville, Tennessee, published by Level Best Books. Started writing this character in 1983 on a commuter train in Chicago. Spent thirty-eight years being rejected before Lost Little Girl won the 2022 Shamus Award for Best First PI Novel. The newest book Goodbye is Forever, the fifth in the series, asks whether a dying triple murderer deserves one last goodbye. Gamble takes the case and the answer is not clean. If you love series PI fiction with a seasoned protagonist who gets older and more complicated with every case — this one is worth your time. Together, they move through cases where old crimes don't die — they just get absorbed into the walls, the weather, and the silence of people who've lived too long in the same village.
My latest, THE GUEST LEDGER (Book 3), just came out. A man checks into a remote guesthouse in Kabelvåg under the name of someone dead for nineteen years — and then vanishes. No body. No explanation. I loved Jay Z Nas Tupac etc those guys shaped my formative years. I have music videos on other platforms as well.
But then I got into movies and the best director of all time to me is Martin Scorsese with his ability to reflect on the human element and emotion we all have.
I'm married with 2 kids and a wife and with a lot of time and patience I managed to complete a book series.
