Can anyone tell me if Goodreads groups in general, or this one in particular, have "Curators?"
I ask because I recently launched a book (I promise to not self-promote unless provoked), ran a press release ad, and subsequently received dozens of emails offering to help me market. The problem is, most of them are clearly AI written mishmashes of my summary and author profile.
However, a subset purport to be "curators" of Goodreads groups who want to push my book (now books, over time they've started offering to push my other titles). The names and groups they use exist, but I don't get any response when I try to contact those names through Goodreads.
Bottom line, these are definitely scams, right? These groups don't have Curators?

Yeah, I think if you received an unsolicited email from someone purporting to be a curator, admin, moderator, owner, etc of any group on Goodreads, it's almost certain that they are looking to sell you services, which you should avoid like the plague, because they are already being dishonest about their role on Goodreads.

Yeah, I've gotten a few of the Goodreads moderator ones myself, including a gazillion fake book promotion emails. Everybody wants⁸ to promote "my book". Okay, which one, I've published 3?! I've saved some of the ones that say what they'd do to enhance my visibility and will do it myself. They're all really a pain in the arse! 😳😜😵‍💫😱

There are no curators. There are only mods.
