Murder Mystery, New Thread!

Goodreads keeps showing me new comments in the old thread when there aren't any, but sometimes doesn't show me notifications when there *are* new posts, so the time has come to start a new thread. If you're working on the challenge in the older thread, you do NOT have to give it up! Just post your next guess here, and we'll continue from there. If you haven't started this challenge yet and would like to, jump right in!

This is the same Murder Mystery game that Sam came up with, but since Sam has been off-GR for a while now, we're starting a new thread for anyone who wants to start a new game. You don't have to have finished your old game in Sam's thread to sign up for a new one here.

THE GAME

Murder Mystery is similar to the board game Clue. The object of the game is to rule out suspects, weapons and locations until the player has determined which suspect committed the murder, cause of death and in which location.

This is a solo, individualized game. Each player will have a different game.

How to Play: A player will be given a list of 10 suspects, 10 causes of death and 10 locations. One from each of those lists will be placed in a metaphorical envelope. The player will need to make a guess that includes a suspect, a cause of death and a location. The player must read 1-3 books per guess. For suspect, the author's initials must be in the suspect's name (occupation). For cause of death, the cover must include something that would cause death by that means (ex for drowning, the cover must have a body of water; for stabbing, the cover must include a knife or dagger, etc). For location, the first letter of each word of the title (2 word minimum) must be in the location (all words count; can only use a letter as often as it is in the location). The player can read one book for each item or can use a book for multiple items as long as it fits the criteria. The moderator will refute a guess by revealing one incorrect item (only one, even if multiple items are incorrect). Once an item is refuted, it can not be used again. Once the player has guessed the correct three items in the envelope, the game is over. The player does not have to eliminate every other option, but must just make the correct guess. Once the game is over, the player can decide whether to play another game.
