Scott Combining means they are linked together:

Do you think that readers should not be able to find old books?

N.A. Shaw The old version of the book is completely different to the new version, with a different characters new ISBN, book cover the old book is not even published any more it simply doesn't exist so even if they click on it they can't read it, so it seems a little pointless having it up there. Sorry, I do appreciate you combining them but as the author I chose to remove the book, they can't read it so why have the old cover up there?

Scott We keep old covers and editions so that readers can log that they have read them. Also books do not cease to exist when they stop being printed, so someone could acquire a copy and read it tomorrow. Please make an effort to learn what Goodreads is about.

N.A. Shaw Ok thank you for your prompt reply and yes I see your point. To be fair I'd say good luck to them finding a copy as I'm the one who published that version and that was stopped 14 years ago! And it was only a digital copy there were no physical copies, so not even sure how they would read it, but hey you never know someone might have one hidden on a very ancient kindle!
thank you for all your hard work in keeping Goodreads alive.
