A sweeping story of grief, courage, and unexpected love.

She went for the story. She came back with her own.

At forty-five, Rylee Taylor has mastered the art of looking fine.

She has raised children through hardship, rebuilt after betrayal, protected her sobriety, and buried a man whose love was never simple. She has taught herself to hold what hurts quietly, and to expect very little from anyone else.

She is the one everyone counts on. She learned a long time ago not to mistake being needed for being loved. She cannot remember the last time she put something down and left it there.

Then Mexico.

A career-defining assignment sends her to Mexico City during Día de Muertos, in the season the monarchs return. She says yes before fear can talk her out of it.

She expects a story. A deadline. The work that has never once let her down.

She does not expect the guide.

He is steady where she is guarded, quiet where she is closed, and carrying something he will not name. He is not there to rescue her. He is there to walk beside her, which is far more dangerous, because Rylee has spent her life proving she can carry everything alone.

In a country where the dead are welcomed home with candlelight instead of silence, her walls begin to look less like strength and more like a cage.

And somewhere between the candles and the crowd, a woman who has spent her whole life waiting to be chosen finally does the choosing.

Monarch of the Heart is a novel about the difference between surviving and living, the love that is left when the story didn't end well, and the outrageous courage it takes to begin again.

For every woman who has been called strong when what she really needed was somewhere safe to fall.

Carrie Roberts Thank you so much, Eline, I really appreciate you getting this listed.

I'm trying to apply for the Author Program as you suggested, and I've run into a snag I'm hoping you can help with.

1. Author profile. The book is currently attached to a different Carrie Roberts, the profile with 14 books. I'm a separate, debut author, so I can't claim that profile and I can't complete the Author Program application without one of my own. Could the book be moved to a new author profile for me? Happy to provide whatever you need to distinguish us. If a separate profile under the same name isn't possible, I could publish as Carrie T. Roberts instead, though I'd prefer not to since my cover and ISBN are already registered without the middle initial.

A few smaller things, and I'm happy to handle these myself once I'm approved if that's easier for you:

2. Cover. I do have a final cover ready. I wasn't sure how to get it attached, and I think I may not have permission to upload it myself. Is it something I can upload once I'm able to get my Author profile set up, or something I can send to you?

3. Page count. I've since finished the manuscript and completed formatting in Vellum, and the final count came out to 452. Could that be updated from 400?

4. ASIN. The listing shows B0HG22DJGQ, but that ASIN returns a "page not found" error on Amazon. My Amazon edition isn't live yet, so I don't think it should be there at all. Could it be removed? I'll add the correct one once my edition goes live.

Thank you again for your time, I know these add up.
