Glad to hear that you enjoyed this classic of what has come to be called "creative non-fiction" (Capote himself called it a "non-fiction novel"). I took In Cold Blood along on a visit to Kansas, and I must say I will never look at life in the Sunflower State quite the same way again. Thank you for this thoughtful review!
One of the basic books of my life. I've never forgotten finishing it late one afternoon and then having weird, disturbed dreams that night.
