Hi, I'm the author. First, thank you for reading the book. I wanted to clarify that it wasn't written with AI. My manuscript went through dozens of drafts and took a year to write (and two to research). I use en or double dashes but Bloomsbury replaced them with em dashes as that's their house style. The X but Y construction of course exists outside of AI writing too, especially in blogs and journalism which is my writing background. I am very happy for readers to critique my stylistic choices or mention if they didn’t like the book, but you are making a claim that is not only untrue but that damages my reputation publicly, and it's pretty upsetting after all the years of work I put in (as you acknowledge from the volume of endnotes). Because of this, I ask that you please edit or remove your review before it does me irreparable harm. Happy to discuss this privately too. Thanks.
