Verity-Lee Hi! I’m looking to take on some new ARCs and review copies and would love to discover some new authors.

I’m mainly interested in romance, particularly historical romance and contemporary romance. I’m also very open to darker romance, complicated relationships, angst, obsession, scandal, emotional stories and books that aren't afraid to get a little messy and screwed up, in fact, the messier the better.

I’m not really interested in fantasy, romantasy or paranormal romance, so I’d prefer stories grounded in the real world (but if it sounds interesting I would be willing to step outside my comfort zone and give it a go!)

I’m especially keen to find something that feels fresh and different, including books from indie and newer authors.

If you think your book might be a good fit, feel free to tell me a little about it! I’m happy to consider both upcoming ARCs and already-published books in exchange for an honest review on whichever platform your book is on :)

Kati Hi Verity-Lee! Your interest in contemporary romance with complicated relationships, angst, obsession, scandal, and emotionally messy situations sounds like a particularly strong match for my already-published novel, The Obsession.

It is an adult contemporary romance of approximately 260 Kindle pages. The story includes marital conflict, forbidden attraction, jealousy, possessive behavior, and explicit sexual content. It is written in second-person point of view and present tense, so I ask potential readers to check the Amazon sample first to make sure the narration works for them.

I can provide a complimentary official Amazon.com Kindle redemption link to a U.S.-based reader. I’m looking for honest private reader feedback; a public review is entirely optional and is not required.

If the book sounds like a good fit, are you currently able to begin within 72 hours and finish within 10–14 days? Please feel free to send me a private Goodreads message. Thank you!

Jasmine Lake Hi Verity-Lee! I think Your Place or His? might be worth a conversation even though it sits just outside your usual comfort zone, bear with me.

At its heart it's a story about a 44 year old widow who is absolutely not looking for anyone, grief that lives in the mundane details of ordinary life, and a love that is complicated and messy and asks her to hold two things at once without resolving either of them. It's emotional, it doesn't shy away from the difficult parts, and it's definitely not afraid to get messy.

There is a mythological thread running through it but the world Zoe lives in is entirely real and contemporary, she has daughters, a demanding job, a hundred kilometre race on her training plan, and a man who keeps appearing in her life with a certainty she can't quite explain.

It's my debut novel and I'm looking for kind but fair feedback from real readers. It's published and available on Kindle Unlimited, or I'm happy to send a digital copy directly.

Here's the Amazon link if you'd like to take a look: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Your-Place-H...

Absolutely no pressure — but I think if messy and emotional is your thing there's a chance this might surprise you.

Jasmine 💜

Mia has spent six years as the most valuable woman in a drowned kingdom and the least regarded person in any room — keeping a private ledger of everyone who looked straight through her. Somebody has been reading it.

Hi Verity-Lee! I saw that you’re open to contemporary romance, indie authors, and already-published books, so I thought Picket Fences and Petty Wars might be a good fit for you.
It’s a sweet, closed-door small-town second-chance romance with humor, banter, and a happily-ever-after.
Adrienne Cook knows exactly where to plant her first petunia.
Right where Cole Sage is going to hate it most.
Cole is back in Rosebud after years away, living next door again and acting as if the strip of ground between their properties is his to manage. Unfortunately for him, Adrienne has flowers, a trowel, and years of unresolved resentment.
Once, they were childhood best friends. Then came a first kiss neither of them handled well, a beloved treehouse that disappeared, years of silence, and enough hurt and misunderstanding to make staying apart seem easier than dealing with what went wrong.
Until Cole comes home.
A row of defiant petunias turns into a property-line war. Cole retaliates with the world’s creepiest garden gnome. And when Rosebud’s most determined meddler catches them in the middle of their latest skirmish, Adrienne and Cole find themselves sentenced to working side by side in the community garden.
As garden work, town gossip, festival preparations, flowers, honey, and far too much forced proximity begin wearing down their defenses, Adrienne starts to question the story she has told herself about Cole for years.
Because some grudges are easier to hold onto than the truth.
And the patch of ground they have spent so long fighting over may be the very place where they finally get a second chance.
Complimentary digital copies are available in EPUB or PDF. Honest reviews are appreciated but never required.

Morne Fortune Hi Verity-Lee! Your interest in complicated relationships and emotional stories made me think you might connect with my published novel, The Woman Who Built His Dream.

I write as Morne Fortune. The book is contemporary women’s fiction about Layla Morgan, a woman who pours herself into building her partner’s dream and begins confronting what that has cost her own identity. It focuses on love, self-worth, and finding her way back to herself.

Here’s the Amazon page, where you can read the sample:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HFH6GWGP

If it interests you, I’d be happy to provide a complimentary Kindle copy through Amazon’s Buy for Others option, subject to redemption eligibility. There is no obligation to review and no deadline. If you choose to leave a review, your honest opinion is welcome.

Are you based in the United States, and are you still accepting books? You’re welcome to reply here or send me a private Goodreads message.

Thank you for considering it!
