Victoria Elizabeth Hi all!
I write contemporary YA and am currently looking for competitive books similar to my novel. If anyone has any recommendations that sound similar, please do not hesitate to drop titles!

So, I write heavy topic in YA spaces, like the effects of school shootings on a family, suicide, being queer in the South, etc. I recently read the Book, Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow. I know that book deals with addiction, but it offers very intense perspectives on what some young people are going through. I need books like that, ones that explore and discuss trauma through an honest lense but are done respectfully. Above all, I am looking to shine light on solidarity, and I need some help doing that.

If anyone has read YA fiction like this, please share!

Meghan Reads MM I think this is great if authors can do this. Just wondering if you've checked with your local librarians, who will probably have some better resources to recommend and consult with. Good hunting!

So,..."

Boy Shattered by Eli Easton
Nobody's Butterfly by Al Stewart and Claire Davis
Foxes by Suki Fleet (or The Glass House)
We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth
Trailer Trash by Marie Sexton
Fearless by Chris O'Guinn
Suicide Watch by Kelley York
Clean by Mia Kerick - this is a bit edgy for true YA
