The Atomic Horrors and Great Quakes of the late Twentieth Century combined with the Great Pollution Waves of the Early Twenty First produced a tired and dirty world badly in need of a new work-force. Thus were born the genetic up-lifts of the early Twenty-First Century, as species after species was uplifted into sentience to stand alongside Man in his quest for dominance and greed over an already ravaged world.

Enter Inspector Henry Flaatphut of InterSpec; a former computer hacker now stuck at what amounts to a desk job, with a 300-pound badger for a boss and a wise-cracking computer named ICy. It would be a drab existence save for his talent at finding trouble of often international implications.

The world of Inspector Flaatphut blends cyberpunk with anthropomorphics and a good splash of detective noir, all of it done very much tongue-in-cheek. Currently the first two of the seven stories I have written are available for purchase.

Project Looking Glass: The original short story that started off this madness when a man stumbles into Henry’s office and promptly dies, but not before giving a hint at a conspiracy that involves turning the largest solar collector array in orbit into a death ray that will fry half of Africa. Now he must thwart the plan, bring down the ones behind it, and escape the clutches of one of the larger megacorps on the planet. Along the way he finds some assistance, including from a mysterious female orange-furred manx that apparently works for the other side. Word count: 10,000

The U.M.I. Connection: Inspector Flaatphut is back in this novella story, this time teaming up with Tiffany– the manx from the first story– and a whole group of miscreants to track down a lethal drug, clones, and the world's most deadly assassin. And all because his mother came to visit. Word count: 64,000
