Sounds a little bit like Life After Life, which also uses the concept of living the same event over and over but making different choices - some of which lead to the same outcome no matter what which begs the question of destiny vs free-choice. Interesting concept, but hard to read casually.

Oh interesting, I have Life after Life on my to-read list, but I didn't realize it covered some of the same concepts. Yes, definitely not light reading. :)
Bummer this one didn't work out for you. But I definitely understand how it gets very confusing, there was a lot of jumping and having multiple timelines confusing too. But I loved it haha.

Thanks, Joanna! I definitely liked it enough, but it's awesome that you totally loved it! Woohoo! :)

I did! Thanks, Maureen! 💖
i remember i bought this book confusing it for the seven husbands of evelyn hugo, i don't really have much to contribute but i still think about that mistake from time to time lol. anyway, great review as always yun! i might add this to my fall tbr even though it does sound a bit confusing

Thanks, Aaron! Haha they came out around the same time, and I remember being confused. Like what are the odds two books would both have "7" and "Evelyn" in their titles? I think with the right mindset going in, this could still be a fascinating read! I hope you enjoy it when you get to it! :)
Minna wrote: "Thanks for the review, Yun. I’ve been noticing several authors have been using time-loops recently."
Thanks, Minna! Time-loops are tricky and I've rarely seen it done well. It usually makes the whole thing confusing.
Emily wrote: "Great review! I had similar thoughts about this book and thought it also rambled on a bit!"
Thanks, Emily! Ha, it did go on a bit, didn't it? I think so too! :)

Thanks, Jayme! Figures! I'm glad it worked better for you! 🤗
What an interesting premise! Based on your review, Yun, I think reading it rather than listening to this story may work better for me as I would probably be constantly rewinding it! Even reading it might make me reread parts of it! Either way, I appreciate your informative review and won’t be adding this one to my WTR list anytime soon!

Thanks, Debbie! This was definitely interesting, but light read it isn't. I agree that reading it will be better than listening. If you ever get to it, I will be super curious to see your thoughts! But I understand your taking your time lol! :)
Thanks for your view Yun! This book's concept sounds really interesting, but I would also concur that making it so complex will go against its accessibility and the opportunity for readers to truly engage with and enjoy it as much as they could.

Thanks, Baba! I usually don't mind using my thinking cap, but this one befuddled me a bit, I don't mind admitting lol! :)

Great review, Yun! Glad that, though you encountered some less than favourable parts, the book was an overall entertaining read for you :)
Chantel wrote: "Great review, Yun! Glad that, though you encountered some less than favourable parts, the book was an overall entertaining read for you :)"
Thanks, Chantel! A mixed bag, but overall an entertaining read nonetheless! :)

Thanks, Lori! Yep, I can totally understand that! :)
I get the impression from your notes this is a speculative review, Yun. Based on that I will give it a read/listen on my own, as well!
I have never read either book but like others, I get this book and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo mixed up in my head so much that I then can't remember what either of them are supposed to be about. 😂 I'm pretty sure I'd be frustrated by this book because I think too much anyway and this one requires a lot of thinking 😬😵🤯 Great review, Yun!

Thanks, Marilyn! Haha, not sure how two books came out around the same time, both with "7" and "Evelyn" in their title. What are the odds? I usually don't mind thinking books, but this one got me muddled a bit lol! 😅
Lisa wrote: "Fantastic review Yun, glad you enjoyed this for the most part but sorry it was too complicated. 😎"

I've been staying away from this one as I fear I would feel the same way. Thanks for the honest and true opinion!

Terrific review, Yun! :)) I loved this novel precisely for the reasons you mention: not everything is easy to grasp lol :) Probably the timing for such a read was perfect for me :) His latest book is also good, really recommend it! :)

I got to around 70% before I threw in the towel on this one. Like you, I found it too complicated. It was also too repetitive. Terrific review, Yun!
